Open Science Infrastructure
Aligning Discoveries Across Psychedelic Therapies (ADAPT) brings together a consortium of researchers to create a robust, transparent, and collaborative psychedelic research ecosystem that advances discovery and therapeutic potential. ADAPT promotes open science practices to maximize research impact and reusability.
Overview
The ADAPT Open Science Policy ensures that ADAPT-funded research outputs are shared throughout the research lifecycle, thoroughly documented, and made as accessible as possible while respecting ethical considerations, participant privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Policy Requirements
-
Anticipate Data, Code, and Protocol SharingResearch ethics applications and informed consent forms must be constructed to allow for broad sharing of de-identified individual-level human participant data. Data, code, and protocols are centrally captured and available to project members as early as possible.
-
Register ADAPT-Funded StudiesADAPT-funded studies must be registered to osf.io/registries, with registrations for exploratory studies focusing on the study intent and the methods, and registrations for confirmatory studies additionally specifying hypotheses, statistical plans, and outcome measures.
-
Deposit Research OutputsDe-identified data, code, protocols, and preprints must be deposited to an ADAPT-designated platform or community-recognized repository.
-
Ensure AccessResearch outputs must be licensed for unrestricted reuse, accompanied by sufficient metadata, and made available in a timely manner (by preprint posting or within 12 months of data collection). De-identified human participant data must allow for controlled-access rights to bona fide researchers in perpetuity.
-
Identify Research ResourcesAll research resources used and generated in a study must be clearly identified in relevant documents via availability statements, persistent identifiers (DOIs, RRIDs, ORCIDs), and a funding acknowledgment statement.
